GIS-Business - UGC Care Category A

The primary goal of GIS Business journal is to advance knowledge about the effective and efficient utilization of business information and technologies by individuals, groups, organizations, society, and nations for the improvement of economic and social welfare. Through the last 30 years of publications, GIS Business has filled gaps between global and regional IS trends, behavioral phenomena, and managerial issues. In particular, GIS Business aims to fill the gaps of the unique managerial and contextual issues related to IS and IT in the Asia Pacific regions (but not limited to). The journal is receptive to a wide variety of topics related to the design, management, use, valuation, and impacts of information technologies at different levels of analysis. Asia Pacific regions include both IT-strong economies (e.g., Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Singapore, and South Korea) and emerging economies for IT development (e.g., some countries in South East, Middle East, and Central Asia). Managerial and contextual issues related to IS and IT in these regions can be quite different from those of countries in other regions. We strongly feel that a professional journal is necessary to deal with these unique issues related to management of IS and IT in the Asia Pacific regions.
